Irving Oil Press Release

Irving Oil has awarded Saint John based Lorneville Mechanical a five year project work contract valued at up to $80 million. The $80 million investment will ensure the safety, reliability, environmental performance and extension of asset life throughout Irving Oil’s refinery, its East Saint John facility and Canaport.

Up to 40 jobs will be created at Lorneville Mechanical for tradespeople such as pipefitters, boilermakers, labourers and scaffolders. Engineers and project managers will also be required to complete the project work.

“We’re looking forward to working with a regional company who, like Irving Oil, has strong ties to our community,” says Mark Sherman, General Manager of the Irving Oil Refinery. “This contract will bring tremendous benefits to our province and local region.”

“To us, this means that Irving Oil believes in local companies,” says Styve Dumouchel, CEO of Lorneville Mechanical. “The contract allows us to grow, create jobs and develop expertise so we’re better prepared to bring back other opportunities to New Brunswick.”
